Ras Esop Tshovutshovu

Born in 1979 23rd March I started drawing when I got my first sketch book in 1983 given to me by my father who used to run an art class at his studio in Mbare. I didn't get a chance to study art at school I practiced on my own after school and visited professional artist studios over the years growing up. After finishing high school I immediately got my first job as a display artist in a department store, I worked in different stores for 5years. I got bored decided it was time to move on to visual art.

This was after exhibiting my artwork at Delta gallery's Young artist art exhibition, I applied to the national art gallery art school in 2000 I did one year and I couldn't afford so I left.
